✅ How licensing works
Once you have installed Liberation on your computer it will run in free mode until you authorize it.
In addition to the number of lasers you can arm, you can also use DMX fixtures. See DMX / Art-Net.
There is also a limit to the number of computers you can authorize Liberation on, depending on your license tier.
| License tier | Number of computers | Lasers | DMX fixtures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | 1 | 2 | 0 |
| Pro 4 | 1 | 4 | 4 |
| Pro 8 | 2 | 8 | 8 |
| Unlimited | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Internet connectivity
Liberation's licensing and authorization works over the internet; the app connects to our server to associate an installation with your paid license.
Once you're authorized, you don't need to be online again until your recurring license reaches its next payment date (shown in the About panel). Monthly recurring licenses usually include a short grace period (7 days), but you should go online as soon as possible after the payment date to keep your paid features available without interruption.
The grace period is for renewal and payment issues. It does not extend licenses that have been canceled, or deliberately paused, after the paid period ends. If a payment fails, update your card details within the grace period to keep paid features available.
The current license tier is also shown in the top bar. Click the tier name, or FREE MODE when unlicensed, to open the About panel.
